Computer Information

The college maintains a computer lab in addition to the many department labs located around Keplinger Hall. The primary computer lab is M-7, which is available for students to use 24 hours per day, seven days per week. M-7 provides students access to 24 Core2Duo 2.4Ghz machines running Microsoft Windows XP. In addition to M-7, There are two instruction labs: L-1 contains 30 Pentium-4 3.0Ghz machines and L-2 contains 20 Pentium-4 3.4Ghz machines. Both L-1 and L-2 are available to students for general use when they are not being used for class. The college and departments together maintain more than 150 Pentium-4 or better class machines available for students use.

Linux Servers

Students may request access to our Dell Poweredge Servers running RedHat Enterprise Linux v4.0. Each of the two servers has a dual core 3.4Ghz processor and 4GB of RAM. Our web server is a PowerEdge 2650, with a Pentium 4 2.0Ghz processor and 2GB of memory running RedHat Enterprise Linux. The database server is a Poweredge 2850 with two dual core 3.4Ghz processors and 4GB of RAM. The server offers up MS SQL 2005, Oracle 9i, and MySQL databases.

Accounts

We recently switched to a system that allows anyone with a @utulsa.edu email address to logon to our Windows based computer systems. To log on to any computer supported by ECS, simply select the UTULSA domain and use the same username and password that you use to check your email. Users needing unix and database access will still need to request unique accounts below:

Computer Work Request

The College of Engineering and Natural Sciences uses IRM, a problem tracking application written by Yann Ramin and Keith Schoenefeld using PHP and MySQL along with an Apache web server. Any student or staff member can submit a computer work request.
